We are really delighted with the results we have achieved with ConservEnergy. We live in a 4 year old log home. After that length of time, logs and chinking have settled and it becomes time for some sealing work. The fabulous part about Infra-red technology is that it can pinpoint the air leaks with laser precision and let you know which are the big ones and which are relatively inconsequential. We were able to reduce air leakage by 20% which will quickly convert to greater comfort and a 20% or greater savings in energy! I recommend an evaluation for anyone who has some cold spots in their home or who think their heating and Air conditioning bills are too high.

We have been living in our home in Young Harris, GA for a little over 14 years. A problem surfaced soon after moving in. There was a small, intermittent leak in our basement. It wasn't a major problem...more of an annoyance. We had several contractors and others look at the situation. This involved several attempted fixes such as removal of siding, caulking around the siding and concrete walls, etc. None of the fixes cured the problem. I was talking with Rick one evening about this and he said he had a non-invasive system that could pinpoint the source of this leak. I was skeptical, but, invited him over for a look at the problem. It took him less than 15 minutes to find the source using his thermographic system! As it turned out, it wasn't the siding or the walls, but, a concrete planter that was attached to the concrete wall. Needless to say, we were very happy with his professional approach to this situation, and, very happy to find the problem.

It was surprising to discover areas of air infiltration that we never suspected. Some window and door seal leaks were anticipated but not those that were found along moldings, trim, and light fixtures. The devices used in the inspection are impressive; a thermal image of a trouble spot, coupled with a digital photograph, shows exactly where caulk, insulation, or a repair is needed. We look forward to keeping more of the air we heat and cool indoors, where it belongs!

After the inspection, I got my report via email a few days later...and went to work. While I had an idea of the usual places to look for air leaks, the photos pointed to areas I would have never found on my own, like behind the molding 12 feet off the ground (in our log home) where a large 2nd story floor support meets an outside wall .
We can actually feel a nice difference in our master bedroom after caulking, because the photos pointed to where an electrician had failed to caulk around a power line going to a crawl space. It too, of course, was behind molding.
...A very worthwhile 2 hours!
